Lunettes du Monde Optometry Policies and Disclaimer

All sales of prescription eyeglasses and non-prescription sunglasses are final.

  • Lenses may be remade by our lab once within 90 days of the original dispense date if there are issues related to lab error, difficulty with Rx adaptation, or doctor’s Rx changes.

  • Any additional remakes are offered at a 30% discount off usual and customary fees.

  • We allow a one-time frame exchange within 7 days of dispensing your prescription or non-prescription eyewear.

  • Clear or transitioning prescription lenses are warranted for up to 2 years for any manufacturer defects in anti-reflective and scratch coatings. Maui Jim sun lenses with anti-reflective coating are warranted for 1 year for manufacturer defects or anti-reflective and scratch coatings.




FRAME HANDLING POLICY

As a service to our patients, we are pleased to offer adjustment and replacement lenses utilizing new or used frames. While our office and labs use the utmost care when working with eyeglasses, we cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur. We will work with them solely at your own risk.


FRAME WARRANTIES

Eyeglass frames (unless discontinued by the manufacturer) are under warranty for defects for up to one year from the date of purchase. This does not include loss, theft, accidental breakage/damage, or mutilation by pets (it happens!).


CONTACT LENSES

  • Unopened and unmarked boxes of non-specialty soft contact lenses may be exchanged within 90 days.

  • Sales of specialty gas permeable, custom soft, or hybrid contact lenses are final. Specialty lenses are covered by a 90-day manufacturer’s exchange warranty until the final Rx has been determined.



EYE CARE SERVICES

Eye exams, contact lens fittings, and medical eye services are non-refundable.

HOW TO CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT

To cancel appointments, kindly respond to text/email reminders, or call the office directly at 510-559-8181. If you would like to reschedule your appointment, please leave a voicemail with your request. We will return your call and give you the next available appointment time.


​​​​​​​LATE CANCELLATIONS AND NO-SHOW POLICY

  • A late cancellation is considered when a patient fails to cancel their scheduled appointment within

  • 24 hours of their scheduled appointment time and will be billed $40.

  • A patient's failure to show up at their appointment time within our grace period of 15 minutes will be billed $40.

  • Exceptions would apply to emergency situations only.
